Heavy Tungsten Chassis Weights in Racing Car

The tungsten we provide is predominantly utilized in the NASCAR Racing Series, specifically in block form as ballast within the frame rails of race cars. In scenarios where confined spaces demand mass for balance, tungsten-based high-density metals are frequently specified.

The tungsten we provide is predominantly utilized in the NASCAR Racing Series, specifically in block form as ballast within the frame rails of race cars. In scenarios where confined spaces demand mass for balance, tungsten-based high-density metals are frequently specified. These materials enable race cars to achieve the optimal “feel” or balance for enhanced performance. Our tungsten-based chassis weights possess more than twice the density of steel and are 50% heavier than lead. They serve the purpose of lowering the center of gravity and adjusting the balance between the front and rear of the race car. The machined tungsten-based ballast block is designed for easy insertion into NASCAR frame rails, featuring threaded holes on both ends for effortless movement and attachment. The standard block dimensions are 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ x 6″, weighing 35 lbs. Stock Car Steel & Aluminum stands as the primary supplier of tungsten blocks to the NASCAR Racing Series.
