Tungsten for Lamp Components

Tungsten wire was developed with the advancement of light bulbs. With the continuous improvement of key parameters, like, high-temperature performance, anti-sag property, coilability, and diameter uniformity, etc. Its applications have gradually extended to lighting, electronics, automotive, machinery, and other fields.

The properties of tungsten wire have provided it with a unique place in the origin and growth of the lamp sector. The lamp sector signifies the largest commercial application of tungsten wire. This is because it exhibits superior creep resistance at higher temperatures. Tungsten is an appealing lamp filament material, as it has a very high melting temperature (~3680 K) and a low vapor pressure at elevated temperatures.

Tungsten filament incandescent lamps, particularly tungsten halogen lamps, are often used in illumination systems. Paired with stable, current-controlled power supplies, they provide extremely stable sources. If the current is altered, the filament temperature changes, with a resulting change in filament resistance. Therefore, the voltage change is not linearly related to the current change. Similar nonlinear relationships hold for other characteristics of the lamp, such as power consumed, luminous flux output, efficacy, and lifetime.

T&D supplies Pure Tungsten Wire, Doped Tungsten Wire, and Rhenium Tungsten Wire for lamp filament.

The finest diameter is 0.0002”.
