Tungsten and Molybdenum Discs for Power Semiconductor
Tungsten discs and squares are widely used as contact materials in silicon control rectifiers, diodes, transistors, and thyristors, and they are only used in specialized applications. Otherwise, molybdenum serves as the preferred mounting material for power semiconductor devices due to its significantly lower cost and lighter weight.
Tungsten and molybdenum have a similar coefficient of expansion to silicon and combined with high thermal conductivity this makes them an ideal choice, especially for power devices with a large area that generate considerable heat. Further applications include the use of molybdenum and tungsten as heat sink bases.
We supply both tungsten discs and squares with a purity of 99.99% min.
